Visitor from NCTU

I had a visitor from NCTU last week. He is an Associate Professor. Let's call him Dr. Lin. We didn't meet before when I was a college student in NCTU. National Chiao Tung University, NCTU, is the school where I finished my bachelor and master degree. I learned a lot from my advisor, Professor Pan, who is the colleague of Dr. Lin. Dr. Lin went here, Seattle, to attend a conference. The first day when he arrived, I took him to downtown Seattle, Pike Place Market, and had meals. It was sunday night when we ended up at Zoka Cafe, a wonderful place to relax. We had a lot talks and thoughts sharing. I personally thanks him for his suggestions about my research. In fact, I am kind of lost now. I have no exact idea about the goals and topics of my PhD research. This year is my third year. I don't think the present condition is good to me. But after talking with Dr. Lin, there is a light gleaming in front of me. I re-collected my thoughts, and felt the confidence was coming back. At that moment, I see the hope.

I really appreciate Dr. Lin for his suggestions. Overall, I think I still need to have a long talk with my advisor. The sooner I can confirm my research topics, the better PhD life I will get.
