This year is my third year of PhD program. Generally, the third year of a PhD student should be the time for preparing his own proposal about the research. So under this condition, no class should be registered in order to save time for paper preparation. But, I took class "Introduction to Technical Writing" this spring quarter 2006. The reason is simple: I don't have much experience about English writing since English is not my native language.
To join this class, I spent a lot of time on the waiting list. Because this class is offered mainly for undergraduate students, the graduate students like me is not allowed to attend. The only way to be a student in this class is signing your name on the waiting list. Luckily, I got the final space of the class, even the class time is not so welcome: 8:30 am in MWFr.
I always like to read and learn English, no matter what type of the material. Hopefully this quarter I can learn a lot about English writing, and, most important, finish my paper soon.
